Some days will just suck
Aug 05, 2025
I believe in filters of love and abundance.
But I’m not here to gaslight myself with toxic positivity.
Some days in recovery?
They will just suck.
Not because you’re doing it wrong.
Not because the universe is testing you.
But because being human is messy — and sometimes the only spiritual move is to let it rain.
You don’t have to fix a hard day.
You don’t have to slap a smile on it or squeeze it into a “grateful” Instagram quote.
You just have to live through it.
One breath, one choice, one tiny moment of self-compassion at a time.
I use a mantra for days like this:
This too shall pass.
And I don’t whisper it like a wish. I say it like a truth.
Because the real magic in recovery isn’t about feeling good all the time —
It’s about staying with yourself when everything feels hard.
Let go of what you can’t control.
Reorganize your day around softness.
Be the kind of safe you never had.
That’s the work. That’s the win.
You don’t need another Day 1. You need a way out that actually feels good.
